The Window of the Word by Which We See the World

A lack of hearing the word leads to immaturity. The unique danger though for Christians is that you can subject yourself to the word over and over, but if you dull your hearing, you’re no more skilled in righteousness then the pagan next door.

Those who dulled their hearing to the word of God are like a child who is barely paying attention, unskilled in any area, running right back into the ditch we righteously told them to stay out of. Often quick to complain, even cursing God, over their pitiful state of affairs.

So many confessing Christians as children lose their faith by adulthood, lose even the elementary principles they once knew and believed, because they had such a shallow, pathetic foundation from such little hearing of the word of Christ, which can either be to due a lack of enculturation into a church filled with the word of Christ, or it can be due to dulled hearing that did not get disciplined out of them by loving parents.

God’s very clear command to his teachers and preachers is to preach the word in season and out of season, remembering that man does not live off bread, let alone milk, alone, but every word that comes from the mouth of God! And the sheep of God are to feast upon God’s word!
