Jesus, the Sire, Sender, and Savior of All Storms

Christ Jesus, the Lord of Glory, is the sire, sender, and savior of all storms. Jesus, in the place of all his people, was cast into the storm of God’s raging wrath against evil and sin, your evil and sin. He was cast into the sea, and he was not preserved. He was pierced, torn, betrayed, slaughtered like a lamb, he was buried with the wicked. He died in the place of Jonah, he died in the place of Israel, of whom we gentiles have been grafted in by his grace. He died in the place of his elect, of whom are a number no man can count.
