Revelation is Finished, for the Son has Spoken

The war for authority is a war of words. When we come to the Scriptures, we are hearing God speak, once through the prophets, but now through his Son! 

God has gone to great lengths to make clear that new revelation would cease to come, not because revelation has ceased, not at all, but rather because God established a living foundation of revelation that the church is built upon... the prophets, the apostles, and Christ as the cornerstone.
